Expedia Canada is an American based Travel Company which started in 1996 as a division of Microsoft. It has since gone through many changes and acquisitions and remains a powerhouse in the travel industry. Some of its major acquisitions include Travelocity, Trivago and Orbitz. What this means to the consumer is that it has a lot to offer and can keep prices lower. In addition Expedia spends a lot on technology and its search and find functions are very slick and easy to use.
Expedia.ca offers flights, hotels, all inclusive vacation packages, car rental, cruises, and travel insurance to just about anywhere your heart desires.
Its Last Minute Travel deals are laid out really well and offer something new every day. If you are not sure where you want to go but just want a good deal to somewhere, this is the page to check out.
Depending on the season, you might find Shopping Getaways, Beach Destinations, Ski Sales, or just plain flight and hotel deals.
You can also sign up to get Mobile-Exclusive deals sent right to your phone.
Another great feature is the “My Scratchpad” tool. You can save your searches and save notes so when you are planning out that dream vacation, you have a base to build on for all your information.
Expedia.ca also offers discounts to customers who book their whole trip in a package. This is particularly true if you’re booking a flight, hotel, and rental car together.
Another plus is that Expedia shows all the important information up front about the trip itinerary on one page for easy viewing. Essentials of a particular vacation package can be changed as needed to suit you. Using the filter tools to narrow your search is a good way to save time while searching, and you can also view the available hotels on a map. This tool is helpful if it’s important to you to stay in a particular area.
You can also filter the results by total savings so if the deal is most important, you can find the one with the biggest savings. Taxes and service fees are included in the total trip cost listed, so you don’t have to worry about setting aside any extra money. Expedia Canada has the pricing in CAD – Canadian dollars which is always a plus. No one likes the sticker shock of the conversion to from US to Canadian Dollars – especially when the Canadian dollar is so low!
Also you can get an additional 10% off select hotels when you sign up to become a member along with points and other benefits, its free and you only need to provide limited information.
In our Expedia Canada review, the most common complaint that we came across was customer service. Unfortunately there is a downside to being the mega guy on the block. But keep in mind that when you service millions of customers to the tune of billions of dollars, some of them are bound to be unhappy.
It is available in French or English. You can book your travel over the phone or online 24/7 Your Trip, Your Way at Expedia.ca
Lots and lots of choice and information.
The selection and content are great on this mega-site but at the same time, takes searching for something a little bit longer because there is just so much..
Have you ever booked a trip with Expedia Canada? How was the service? How were the prices? Was there anything that was great or not so great? Share it!
