April 29, 2007 - Canada to Mexico: Passport Not Needed
The Mexico Tourism Board is reminding Canadians that they don't need a passport to visit Mexico. The reminder comes in the wake of the United States now requiring Canadians travelling to that country by air to have a passport. "A passport is always suggested (for visiting Mexico), but not needed," says Cesar Castaneda of the board's Toronto office. "Citizens of Canada may enter Mexico holding their original birth certificate - assuming they were born in the same country - and currently valid photo ID or citizenship card."
