September 1, 2006 - Go To Glorius Greece With Nolitours

Nolitours has introduced new 10- and 11-night itineraries to its Glorious Greece program . The new "Journey with the Gods" holidays are a variation of the tour operator's most popular itineraries and start at $1,799 p.p. from Toronto.

"Journey with Poseidon" is an altered version of the "Song of Aphrodite" itinerary for 10 nights/12 days and features four days in Athens, a three-day Greek Island and Turkey cruise and a three-day Classical Coach Tour. "Journey with Dionysios" a 13-day/11-night itinerary also based on the "Song of Aphrodite," and includes four days in Athens, a four-day Greek Island and Turkey cruise and a three-day Classical Coach Tour. "Journey with Zeus" is a 12-day/10-night variation of "Minos Magic" and consists of four days in Crete, a three-day Greek Island and Turkey cruise and three days in Athens, while the 13-day/11-night "Journey with Hermes" features four days in Crete, four-day Greek Island and Turkey cruise and three days in Santorini.

Nolitours' Glorious Greece program is available with Thursday and Sunday departures from Toronto and Montreal to Athens through Nov. 6.

September 10, 2006 - Hola Sun Introduces New Cuban Five-star Hotel

Cuba tour operator Hola Sun reports it has a new property in central Cuba called the Royal Hideaway Ensenachos. The five-star Occidental resort is on the island of Cayo Ensenachos, is newly built, and the adults-only property is seen as suited for those seeking a romantic getaway.

There are three categories; Royal, Spa and Suite. Introductory one-week double rates start at $1,130. Hola Sun vacationers can travel to Cienfuegos, from where land transfers are available to the hotel. The property will be found on page 32 of Hola Sun's winter 2007 brochure. September 18, 2006 - West Jet Has New Pay Lounges

WestJet has teamed up with Penauille Servisair to open guest lounges in airports across Canada. Guests looking for a quiet place to work or relax before their flight can purchase access to lounges offering business facilities and complimentary services, such as beverages and snacks, television and flight information screens, and access to business facilities, including telephones, fax, wireless Internet and newspapers/magazines.

Lounges are licensed, serving beer, wines and spirits at an additional cost. Currently, lounges are available in Ottawa and Winnipeg. Calgary and Vancouver are scheduled to open in September, with plans for expansion in other key cities across Canada. Guests will receive a special reduced rate when they pre-book their lounge access online at westjet.com.

Access to the Ottawa lounge is available for a limited time introductory offer of $15 + GST when book-ed online. Winnipeg's online price is $14 + GST. Lounge access is also available on a walk-up basis at an increased rate.

West Jet Gate change

All WestJet domestic and international charter flights from Toronto now operate from Con-course C in Terminal 3 at Pearson International Airport.

September 27, 2006 - Air Canada Vacations Hurricane Policy

Air Canada Vacations hurricane policy is now in place and runs through Nov. 30. The tour operator offers a flexible policy relative to adverse weather conditions before and during travel. In the event of a hurricane, Air Canada Vacations assesses each situation on a case-by-case basis before rendering a decision based on the category and severity of the storm. If the case warrants, affected travellers may opt to travel as planned or change travel dates and/or destination. Air Canada Vacations' hurricane policy automatically applies to all departures June 1 through Nov. 30. For the purpose of this policy, a hurricane is as announced by the US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) and classified as at least a Category One on the Saffir Simpson Scale.
