May 2, 2006 - Air Transat Flying to Paris and Westjet has a Travel Pass

Air Transat Adds Direct Ottawa - Paris Flights
Air Transat is launching new Ottawa-Paris-Ottawa service this summer. The national capitals of France and Canada will be connected by direct flights aboard a 259-seat Airbus A310 every Sunday from June 25 to Aug. 27. Transat is the only Canadian carrier that will be operating non-stop flights between Ottawa and Paris.

WestJet Adds New Travel Pass
WestJet has introduced a new travel pass for return flights between Toronto and Ottawa and between Toronto and Montreal. This product is a first for the airline, which will provide guests with the flexibility of 10 one-way flights for $1,200 (including all taxes, fees and surcharges) for travel up to and including Aug. 31. Passes must be purchased prior 7 p.m. on April 28. Unlimited changes can be made free of charge up to two hours prior to travel.

WestJet Increases Cancellation Fees
WestJet has increased it's cancellation fees to $40 from $30 for bookings that are changed and/or cancelled
after the day of booking. A same-day cancel fee of $20 applies to bookings made and then cancelled on the same business day through the carrier's Sales Super Centre and airports channels. The fee will only be charged if the passenger wants a full refund, not if they choose to keep the money in a credit file. Same-day cancellations made online will not be charged a cancellation fee. All monies will be refunded to the credit card used to make the original purchase. The cancellation fee is automatically charged online, however, a full refund, including the cancellation fee, will be credited to the credit card.

Also, kennel fees (checked and cabin) now cost $50 one-way, up from $40.

May 23, 2006 - Virginia Offer It's 'Loonie Savers' Again

Virginia is reminding Canadians that its "Loonie Savers" program is in its ninth year, offering two-for-one and guaranteed 50-per-cent discounts on various attractions and activities in one booklet. There are 67 coupon offers available to accommodations, restaurants, golf courses, wineries and attractions throughout the state. The coupons are also grouped by region and are valid through Jan. 31, 2007.
